TITLE: Homebound Teacher

REPORTS TO: Director of Extended Learning

SUPERVISES: NA

TERM: 200-Day Contract

JOB GOAL: Provide direct instruction and educational consultation for students who qualify for homebound services. Effectively collaborate with teachers to ensure students remain on track academically during their homebound placement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING:

• Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree and Valid Tennessee Teaching Certificate
• Minimum: Three years of teaching experience
• Preferred: Secondary Teacher Endorsement and experience as Homebound Teacher
• FBI/TBI Fingerprint/Background Clearance every five (5) years

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with students, parents, and school staff to develop appropriate academic plan
• Provide direct instruction as required
• Implement instructional activities provided by student's teacher of record
• Provide effective instruction that is clear, compelling, and engaging while considering the student's learning style
• Use appropriate student behavior management techniques
• Monitor student performance to improve student success
• Complete reports and paperwork in a timely manner
• Effectively manage equipment and materials
• All other assignments as deemed necessary by supervisor

EVALULATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's

policy on evaluation of personnel.
