Jackson Madison County School System has an immediate opening for a Federal Programs Consulting Teacher at the District Office Level. Candidates interested in this position require a certification from the State of Tennessee - Department of Education to be considered a qualified candidate.  The position reports directly to Deputy Superintendent of Academics, Students, and Schools. Pay rate is based on a District Scale, approved by the District School Board and is commensurate with relevant education, experience and certifications.

 

Position Summary:

The Federal Programs Consulting Teacher is responsible for providing direct assistance in planning, implementing, and coordinating the Title programs in assigned schools to achieve the school's goals and objectives.

 

Required Education / Certification / Endorsement:

  • Master's Degree
  • Tennessee teacher's license
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instruction and/or administration
  • Extensive knowledge in staff training and professional development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work with principals, instructional coaches, and other district leaders

 

Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct assistance in planning, implementing, and coordinating the Title programs in assigned schools to achieve the school's goals and objectives
  • Provide compliance monitoring for all Title programs
  • Provide technical assistance to assigned Title I schools regarding regulations, parent involvement outreach initiatives, program implementation preparation, evaluation and monitoring, and conducting needs assessments at assigned Title I schools
  • Recommend instructional materials and resources to school leaders based on needs assessment and school improvement plan
  • Provide professional development regarding instructional materials and resource purchases and needs assessment (grade level meetings, faculty meetings, after-school, etc.)
  • Monitor inventories of the instructional materials and equipment at assigned schools
  • Provide school leaders and the Federal Programs Director with written documentation of activities and/or behavior that may constitute an infraction of local, state, or federal rules, policies, and/or laws
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of progress related to the school improvement plan
  • Collaborate with other staff in facilitating Site-Based committee meetings to meet Title I guidelines
  • Coordinate Extended Day/Year activities, including planning, implementing, and evaluating programs at assigned schools
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the Federal Programs Director

 

Expected Experience, Expertise and Ability:

  • Expertise in specialty field;
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to build positive and meaningful relationships with students, parents, faculty and staff;
  • Demonstrated skill in effective communication, conflict resolution, creativity, problem solving, decision making and time management.
  • Meets health and physical requirements of the position.
